The brief
Balzac Antiques needed a real store in English and French, not a catalogue, that the owner could run on his own.
The design
A quiet gallery feel in cream and antique gold, a homepage slideshow the owner curates, category covers that fill themselves from the newest pieces, and a framed zoom view for every photograph.
The build
Add to cart from any page with a slide-out drawer, guest checkout with optional accounts and order history, Stripe card payments in euros, and pieces that reserve and mark themselves sold so nothing is ever sold twice. Behind it, an admin panel for pieces, photos, orders and enquiries, plus contact, sell-to-us and newsletter forms with email delivery.
